Google has continued to tighten its grip on the US market in recent months. According to ComScore, 6.8 billion searches took place between September and October of 2006. Of this figure, Google served a whopping 45.5 percent of those searches.

Yahoo! rised slightly, hosting 28.2 percent of the searches and MSN controlled 11.7 percent. No suprise, bringing up the rear & still unable to crack into the league of the big 3 was Ask.com with a 5.8 percent share.
